New work by James Bentley

Here are two new mixed media artworks from redpaintbox 
artist James Bentley. James told us that he experimented
with a variety of elements to see how they would work.  

The work of Gauguin is of interest to James and aided in 

the creation of The Letter (above). "The reading is the action in

the image. The way it goes, she reads the letter in her head

and you read imagery in your head," explains Bentley. 

For Crows, James wanted some drama. "I found the prettier
I made the image the stronger it got. Pretty and creepy
at the same time. Two things that don’t really get put together."
